Clifford Meredith Rigsbee

Clifford Meredith Rigsbee was born on January 9, 1953, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Clifford and Alice Rigsbee. He constantly found opportunities to be in the water and was involved in track and field in high school. He was awarded a college scholarship for swimming and received his Bachelor in Business Administration from Idaho State University in 1974. In 1988, Cliff moved to Hawaii.

He was appointed to the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) on July 3, 1995, and was promoted to Fire Fighter III in October 2004. His last assignment was with Engine 7, 2nd Platoon (Waikiki Fire Station). Cliff was previously assigned to the HFD's Training and Research Bureau where he managed and coordinated various medical programs.

Cliff was internationally ranked triathlete who participated in 20 Hawaii Ironman World Championships. He wont the Tinman triathlon several times and was involved as a volunteer Race Director for the last 12 years. Cliff shared his passion for coaching with his fire colleagues and cast circle of friends and athletes. He was a positive force and inspiration to everyone he met.

Cliff was most proud when talking about his son, Clifford (Mac) Rigsbee, and daughter, Amy Kraukauer, Their accomplishments and talents were a source of great joy to him, and he relished time spent with his children.

Cliff and his life partner, Jenni Cooney, enjoyed cooking, entertaining, outdoor activities, and adventure travel. They made frequent trips to New Zealand where he was embraced by her family as one of their own.

We will remember Cliff's easy smile and fun-seeking spirit and honor him by following his frequent advice:
"Just Keep Moving..."
