To my dearest brother in law, thank you for sharing your kindess and blessings to our family. It saddens me that you will no longer be around when I come back to visit there. I can still remember the times when you used to say that I am like my sister Cindy whenever I prepare you food, help you change clothes and watch over you and then we end up having little childish fights, I will definitely miss those moments. Most especially will miss the times when you wake me up and ask for Nips, chocolate candies. There are not enough words for me to say how thankful I am for you, for taking care of my sister Cindy, for sharing your laughter, stories and blessings to the rest of the family. May your soul rest peacefully now, please continue to watch over us from up there. Be assured that we will be taking care of Cindy here.

Love from Rosie

Hi Uncle - so this is my 4th attempt to post here since as you know, I can barely make it past my first sentence without breaking down in tears :)) .... Let me start by sharing a story from about 2yrs ago when I met a couple at the airport. The kind lady was a Filipina and an Ilongga :), her husband is an American who is a retired professor at Rutgers University. They sat at the table next to me and could not help to notice me working on my laptop, we had a lengthy conversation about life, career and family and funny enough, the man has some words of wisdom that I remember getting from you before. It was almost talking to you really. He also somewhat scolded me for not having a business card handy, telling me things that I know you will also say (all good learning stuff :). To top it off, they regard me for my fluency and how eloquent I was which I shared to them that it was because of you and Auntie Cindy that pushed me to be better in the English language. That growing up we wanted to be able to speak freely to you without having Auntie to translate every Tagalog word and plus the little debates we used to have over a variety of topics whenever you come home for a vacation in Dumarao - those moments were priceless, it challenged me well enough and really helped me overtime.

Here's a last photo I have of you, last time that we were able to see and hug you in person. I know you are in a better place now with our Creator and Lolay and Lolo and the rest of the family there in heaven. I was glad to know that you weren't in any more pain in your last days here, thankful at the same time that you can rest now without worry. I am very thankful for the support and guidance that you, and Auntie Cindy have generously blessed us with. Thank you for being a second father to us, enabling us to better ourselves and for showing us kindness in every way you can. You will never be forgotten, Uncle. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Gavin and Gene will always be lighting a candle for you, always.

Much love from Kathie, Gavin, Gene and Junren
